Chennai: The main IT park in Chennai DLF IT Park Manappakam was severely hit by heavy rains and as per reports, it will be opened on December 14th and starts regular works.
Most IT companies have faced nature’s fury and they have shut down their companies for a while. DLF IT Park in Manapakkam alone has hundreds of companies. There are about 100 call centres in the ground floor and a parking space for 1000 cars in the basement.
But sadly everything went under floods. Most IT companies gave a permit for their employees to work from home or shift their places to Bengaluru and Hyderabad. They knew they can’t wait till they clear the water. Now a senior official in DLF IT Park said that the company is slowly showing progress.
He said, “We are using 50 motor pumps and we bought it from Coimbatore and Pune. We are pumping out all the water from middle and lower basement level. Right now the upper basement is clear and it is water-free. We are slowly clearing one by one. We have cleared more than 350 Cars.
Officials from the Corporation and other government agencies have come in for inspections. We expect the water to be drained out completely within two days and the operations will start as it is from 14th December.”
