Chennai: At present, raining is stopped from past few hours and now it is seen that there is a raise in water loggings, all the celebrities are expected to give helping hand.

For past few hours there has been no rain in Chennai, however due to overflowing dams, the water level has been raising all the time. People from Adayar Housing board colonies were evacuated and sent to safe zone.

Right now the safe areas in Chennai are, Kolathur, GKM Colony, Mogappiar, Vandikaran Street, Royapuram, Kodambakkam, Harrington Road, Sterling Road, Loyola College Road, Susai Puram, Chetpet and Nelson Manickam Road. Lots of actors are stepping up and are providing the helping hands.

Actor Jayam Ravi tweeted, “So disheartening to see the state of my city. Let’s be there for each other and help the needy. Need of the hour is food supplies and shelter.” Along with Army and Navy team, few NGO’s also joined in the rescue operation.

Most people who are living in apartments have moved to second floor as water has completely filled till first floor. People are still suffering without any electricity. Food packets are being provided through choppers.
