Researchers also added that MSU’s professor showcases evolutionary change from previous duck-billed species to ancestry groups. This new species fills the gap neatly that existed between ancestral form with no crest and successor with a larger crest.
This fossil dinosaur has been named Probrachylophosaurusbergei by Elizabeth Freedman Fowler and MSU palaeontologist Jack Horner. They said that it suggest an earlier mission link between a previous class, Acristavus, these were lived 81 years ago and later formed Brachylophosaurus 77.5 million years ago.
Fowler said that Probrachylophosaurus was looking too small and triangular and will have only push up a little bit on the top of the head above the eyes. He also added that bones which are including its skull very similar to Acristavus and Brachylophosaurus.
Fowler pointed that Probarachylophosaurus crest and skull was in-between Acristavus and Brachylophosaurus because its age 79 years ago between those species and is a perfect example of advancement within a single ancestry of over millions of years.
Fowler was chief a team from the Museum of the Rockies in dig a bed of Earth near the town of Rudyard in north central Montana at the time of summer 2007. The site includes fossils of duck-billed dinosaurs and a visiting school group found bones jab out of an old quarry. Horner documented that skull is most crucial part of the skeleton for recognizing the species.
