The first Indian electrical automobile manufacturer is becoming ready to launch the electrical motorcycles in the Indian market. In its final stages of approvals such as prototyping and certifications for the bike to be launched. The Pune-based Tork motors had got a financial support for manufacturing the bikes from the cab service providers Ola.
Ola, an ANI Technologies Pvt. Ltd., company along with CoCubes have funded a handsome undisclosed amount for the project to run. Today, this was confirmed by the co-founders – Bhavish Agarwal and Ankit Bhati along with the co-founder of CoCubes – Harpreet Grover who is also the chief executive officer (CEO) for the company.
The Tork motors founder, Kapil Shelke stated that the model may be released by tagging the name T6X by the end of the year. The price of the bike was not disclosed. This is also the first smart bike in India with the features of :
- GPS
- Storage
- Phone charging
- Battery management system
- Control systems
- Motor tuning
- Drive train
- Overall product integration and
- Cloud connectivity.
The local manufacturing companies are looking to encash the central government’s National Electric Mobility Mission Plan (NEMMP) 2020 scheme. This scheme aims to put seven million electric and hybrid vehicles on Indian roads by the end of 2020. This mission further encourages the Faster Adoption and Manufacturing of (Hybrid) and Electric Vehicles (FAME) scheme announced in April 2015, Under which Rs.795 crore will be provided as assistance for the electronic vehicle manufacturers till 2020 year.
