Social networking giant Facebook has expanded its free basic Internet services under the Internet.org start-up in 19 countries, the company confirmed it through a blog post.

Facebook has expanded its free basic internet service under the Internet.org initiative in 19 countries, now more than billion people who have access to Internet.org free basic services across Asia, Africa and Latin America can able to access more free services through the this platform.

The leading social networking giant confirmed it through a blog post. Internet-org is a partnership between Facebook and telecommunication companies where people can learn free services including applications for learning English and it also provides information to formers in developing countries.

As per company, under the Internet.org more than 60 new services are available across the 19 countries. To develop these services the Facebook opened platform in May and partnered with 30 Indian developers for free basic services.

Facebook developed Internet.org with an aim to provide internet connectivity to than more than 4 billion people across the globe that are not yet online. For this the social networking giant Facebook partnered with mobile operators across 17 countries including India and is the second largest market for Facebook with about 132 million users.

The app allows the users for more than million downloads, and allows to browsing selected health, employment and local information websites. The Facebook has also called the Internet.org app as FreeBasics by Google and the website would be FreeBasic.com to offer better services and programs for users.
