Social media giant Facebook has decided to give a structure to the open source software with its new Facebook Incubator hub, prompting the developers to think new ways about the software.
“Successful Facebook Incubator projects will be carefully scrutinised and managed. Proper documentation, community engagement and widespread adoption will help Incubator projects graduate into their own standalone repos,” technology website Tech Crunch quoted Facebook as saying.
The first project seeded in the Facebook Incubator is create-react-app — an app created using React Native, a framework of building native apps using React.
The Incubator project will not only provide reports — a repurchase agreement or a form of short-term borrowing for dealers in government securities — but also a new way of thinking when developing projects.
Incubator may seem unnecessary but it is a cleaner way for a large company to distribute new tools without getting lost in the GitHub — online project hosting place — whirlpool.
According to the report, Apple or Google may follow suit with similar initiatives, perhaps hosting several incubators under one account.
