June 8: Be aware of Facebook Unfriend Alert App, it may steal your data says experts. Recently an app was founded i.e. Unfriend Alert, it alerts the users when any of their friends unfriends them on Facebook.
Through this app user can knows who has unfriended them, and the app is free, it will alert the user immediately when someone removes from the Facebook friend list. But it asks for users sign in and password details to alert them.
The security firm MalwareBytes said that, login details of users will not directly sent to Facebook, it will sent to yougotunfriended.com. When a user uses this app it will display ads and installs malicious software on the user’s computer to monitor the user activities. It doesn’t show up in the Facebook app list, so the user can easily forget about this, but the app still monitors user’s activities.
The experts advise the users to remove this app and changing the account password. One more app is there in market, which alerts the users when a Facebook friend ditches them, but this new app seems like designed to steal passwords.
So, all Facebook users are advised to be careful while downloading any new apps, otherwise you may lose your data.
