Hyderabad: Flipkart Adoption Assistance Program – Estimating $15 billion, under this if a person adopts baby under 12 month age, he/she will get maternity benefits as company norms.

India’s most valuable start-up has declared its new adoption policy, which is valued at $15 billion. As per this programme, biological parent will be given more time to spend with their new-born’s

According to the new policy parent who adopted the children under 12 months of age are eligible for same maternity benefits including six months if paid leaves and four months of flexible working hours. And fathers can also benefit with six weeks of paid leave under this programme.

The chief people officer of company, Mekin Maheshwari said that “We want to make Flipkart a great workplace for employees, especially when they go through large life evnets”.

Flipkart has 33,000 employees and the new adoption programme offers equal benefits to all the employees. Accenture offers 22 weeks of paid maternity leave and 8 weeks of fully paid adoption leave and google offers up to 20 weeks of paid maternity leave and 7 weeks of adoption leaves and it also returns Rs.10, 000 as an adoption policy for new mothers. Vodafone offers 16 weeks of paid maternity leave and one week of paternity leave but it won’t offer adoption policy.
