Chennai: Kollywood film industry is set to have four Tamil movies for this coming Pongal, namely Director Bala’s Thaarai Thappatai, Vishal’s Kathakali, Jayam Ravi’s Miruthan and Siddharth’s Aranmanai 2.

Thaarai Thappatai

Director Bala is known for directing movies in a realistic manner. He  is back after a span of two years with the movie ‘Thaarai Thappatai’. The movie features Sasikumar and Varalakshmi Sarathkumar in lead roles. Isaignani Ilayaraja has scored tunes for this project and this is his 1,000th movie as a composer. The movie also features Pragathi Guruprasad, Amuthavanan, RK Suresh. One of the most anticipated movies.

Kathakali

‘Kathakali’ is going to be Vishal’s first movie after bcoming the General Secretary of Nadigar Sangam. Catherine Tresa is pairing with Vishal for the first time. Pandiraj is first time crafting an action genre. The movie is confirmed for a Pongal release.

Miruthan

‘Miruthan’ is going to be Tamil cinema’s first Zombie Apocalypse movie. The movie features Jayam Ravi and Lakshmi Menon in lead roles. Shakti Soundar Rajan has crafted the movie. The shooting was wrapped up recently and patch work shooting happens right now in Chennai.

Aranmanai 2

‘Aranmanai 2’ features Siddharth, Trisha, Hansika, Poonam Bajwa, Soori and Manobala. Hiphip Tamizha is the music composer. Sundar.C has directed the movie. The movie already got more expectations as a huge statue was erected for the climax.
