Swachh Hyderabad to Start from May 16 to 20 | GHMC

Telangana, May 13: Minister for Commercial Taxes Talasani Srinivas Yadav detailed that state government is planning to conduct a campaign Swachh Hyderabad from 16th to 20th May as a part of its plans to make the city as slum free.

Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao also decided to run a campaign like Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Swach Bharat Abhiyan to win the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) elections with a programme ‘Swachch Hyderabad.

State government decided to launch the programme on 16th May and it announced Rs. 20,000 crore to develop the city in next three years. Minister said that around 33,500 officials would take part in this campaign. The city has divided into 415 equal units and each has equal number of teams to continue the programme.

Hyderabad Metropolitan Water Supply and Sewerage Board (HMWS &SB) has also arranged an action plan to address the water and sewerage issues at this campaign. The main focus of the campaign is to maintain cleanliness, safe drinking water, clean environment, safe disposal of sewage and safe disposal of waste etc.

HMWS&SB official told that “they are taking various challenges during campaign period, to implement all those challenges and allocated the Rs 20 lakh for each O&M division”. Minister Srinivas Yadav and senior officials would lead the teams and GHMC launched a toll free number (21111111) for campaign purpose and municipal issues will be solved at this campaign.
