Secunderabad, July 7: Food poison at Junior College on Monday made it responsible for around 46 girls to get admitted in State-run Fever Hospital, Nallakunta, Telangana.

A Steady stream of girl students is into the State-run Fever Hospital, Nallakunta for a cause of food poisoning. Around 46 girls from the Social Welfare Residential School and Junior College, Mahendra Hills, Secunderabad got affected with this and were joined in the hospital for treatment on Monday. The girls were complaining for diarrhoea, vomiting and abdominal pain and doctors clarified that these are the symptoms of food poisoning.

During the treatment, when doctors asked what the students ate, they replied that they consumed fried rice along with egg curry on Sunday evening and khichdi early on Monday. This reacted in a vast way and by afternoon only around 16 people got admitted into the hospital. No sooner, the treatment is started; another 26 joined their friends with same symptoms.

The doctors in hospital took sufficient and necessary care towards students and treated them immediately. So far, the health condition of girls belonging to a Junior college is safe. It is said that the officials collected the samples of food items and sent for testing purpose.

Superintendent, Fever Hospital, Dr. K. Shankar said while treating, “All the girl students are stable now. They came with typical symptoms of food poisoning after having fried rice, egg curry and khichdi in their hostel. We have collected samples and have sent them for testing. They are stable, but we need to keep them under observation for a day or two ”.

Certain measures are being taken to make the girls healthier like earlier by keeping them under observation for two to three days.
