GMCH-32 – Government Medical College and Hospital, Chandigarh after communicating with Medical Council of India removed MBBS entrance exam for NRI candidates. Replaced with mark basis selection.

Government Medical College and Hospital, Chandigarh leftovers MBBS entrance exam for NRI candidates, The GMCH-32 in a fresh notice mentioning that by taking a communication form the Medical Council of India, the college director-principal said that the January circular of conducting entrance exam for NRI candidates was cancelled.

College also mentioned that, from now onwards NRI Admissions will be taken based on the marks obtained in 10+2. For this process, GMCH-31 had conducted the entrance exam separately for NRI students for filling six seats. Exam was performed on June 21 and nearly 24 candidates wrote it, out of which only 4 were selected.

By this decision, NRI candidates addressing from Chandigarh will get preference. The new notification has left three NRI candidates, who had already cleared the entrance examination in the lurch. As per latest news, Perneet Kaur Grover, daughter of Canada based NRI had cleared the examination at GMCH-32. She got 7th rank in CMC’s test.

Similarly, another NRI candidate from Canada, Rajat Jain also cleared the Madhya Pradesh Common Medical Test, but unfortunately he skipped the counseling after coming to know that he had cleared the GMCH-32 exam.

Another NRI candidate from Kuwait, Shivani Gupta also cleared the exam and she also skipped the exams, after the announcement of GMCH-32 results. Her father said, “We went by the catalogue, but the college did not follow it. We will go to court for this”.
