Google and Renowned American clothing chain Levi’s joined together to create touch-sensitive fabric inside jeans. Technical Program Lead Ivan Poupyrev confirmed during Google I/O 2015 key note that search giant is teaming up with Levi’s to create touch-sensitive clothes.
Google and US jeans maker Levi Strauss worked together to make unusual clothing from mainly Woven fabric with touch screen and control capabilities. The search giant organized a conference in San Francisco to reveal the project called as Jacquard.
Levi’s is the first clothing brand which becomes the first partner in tech giants and the project will undergo with the small Google team called Advanced Technology and Projects (ATAP) which develops big-vision innovations such as self-driving cars.
Paul Dillinger of Levi Strauss said that “It is dazzling opportunity for a partnership between both companies to enable co-operating textiles. Those clothes can look like normal fabric and are stretchable and washable. The combined project Jacquard brings completely new value to consumers with clothing that is emotional, aspirational and functional. If this project succeeded the project is worth doing”.
