Gujarat new plant’s first roll out product In 2017 will be Maruti Suzuki Baleno hatchback segment car in India.
Maruti Corporation’s newly set up plant for the production at Mehsana in Gujarat will deliver the hatchback segment Maruti Suzuki Baleno car. The deliveries will start from January 2017. The model presently is being produced at Manesar plant in Haryana.
chairman of Maruti Suzuki India, Mr RC Bhargava confirmed that initially 80,000 Maruti Suzuki Baleno car units are produced out of which nearly 40,000 units are 1.3-litre diesel variants and the remaining are petrol variants which include Automatic transmission too. Previously, to meet the heavy demand of the Baleno model, the company has decided to manufacture the vehicle additionally in the Gujarat plant. Now, the company plans to shift the entire production of the Baleno model in Gujarat new plant itself.

Another model will also be rolled out from this production house in the year 2018. Maruti Suzuki’s Swift Dzire which is being developed with new innovations and platform will be manufactured here.
A few days back, fire broke out in the Haryana’s Manesar plant due to which the production was stopped. After a couple of days, the production resumed in both plants at Gujarat and Haryana. The company chairman has assured that there will be no shortfall in the supply.
An annual target of 70,000 Baleno car units for export has been set up initially by the company. The model will be exported to Japan and some of the European countries. Maruti Vitara Brezza and Baleno are the hot models for the company in sales. Baleno is exported to nearly 100 global automobile markets from India. Fully developed in India model Baleno has changed the fortunes for the company internationally.
