H-1B, L1 Visa Fee Doubled For Indian Organizations

Mumbai: The US Visa such as H-1B, L1 Visa prices for Indian organizations have ben increased and almost it goes doubled. US Congress stated this recently.

The US congress is starting to impose high fee almost double to previous for H1-B, L1 visas. Indian IT organizations will come under this worst affected with this kind of huge hike.

Congress leaders have decided to impose a special fee on various categories of H-1B visas and 4,500 on L-1 visas of $4,000. The US house of representative is decided to vote on the $1.1 trillion spending bill deal on Thursday.

The new fee will be applicable for those companies who have at least 50 employees and more than 50 percent of them have H1 B and L1 Visas. It means, Indian companies which are operating in U.S such as Wipro and TCS will be affected by it.

Though, American companies will have different of their employees on non-immigrant visas and stay under 50% threshold. As per 9/11 health and compensation act, part of the money raised via special fees which will fund the health care of 9/11 first responders.

On the other part, a fund will implement an exit day system and a biometric entry under the department of Homeland Security. The lawmakers, who are behind the bill, described this thing as a temporary provision and the new H-1B and L-1 visa fee increase is for a period of 10 years, it is against of the previous provision of five years.
