In a move to handle the competition from the recently launched Reliance 4G Services, AirTel has slashed its data pack rates followed by Idea.
The latest entry of Reliance Jio Infocomm with 4G services has made the existing service providers to safeguard their customers and in a step to do so, the leading companies in india in telecom sector has announced some offers. AirTel and Idea has slashed their data pack prices to large extent of 65%.
The 4G data as per the new offer announcement by AirTel is available at the cost of 3G data. Earlier 3G data was available for Rs.655 whereas now for the same price 4G data is made available for the customers. The monthly packages have become cheaper and beneficiary for the customers. Bharati AirTel is the leading service operator in India. The third largest telecom service provider Idea Cellular has also followed the footsteps of AirTel in this matter. Idea has also announced the same package in order to retain its existing users and attract the new. There is a little bit of cost variation when compared to AirTel’s data packs, Idea has the price tag of Rs.649.
The latest announcement of offers by both AirTel and Idea will enable the users to use 5 GB data at Rs.659 and Rs.649 when compared to 3 GB in the past. An extra 2 GB data is the benefit for the users.
India’s second biggest telecom operator Vodafone India has yet to announce its offer. At present Vodafone is offering 5 GB data at Rs.700 for its users. Soon, the company may revive its tariff to withstand the competition from its rivals. Both the company spokes persons from AirTel and Idea have stated that these rates are pertaining to the Post-paid customers. Apart from the post-paid plans, the pre-paid users have also got the bundle of offers from these companies. A minimum of 25% extra data is available for the pre-paid customers. The pre-paid users constitute to more than 90% of their business wings.
