Haryana: Government is all ready to set up women police stations at all 21 districts of State on 29th August on the occasion of Raksha Bandhan festival.
Haryana state will have women police stations in all the 21 districts of state by this Raksha Bandhan festival i.e. 29th August. Chief Minister of state Manohar Lal Khattar has conducted a video-conference meeting with all range IGs, district SPs to review the preparation about the opening of women police station across state.
As per sources, Haryana government will have police stations across state from this 29th August, thus making the second state after the Tamil Nadu state to have such women police states in the country. These police stations will have female staff and offers services for all day and night.
Haryana government is planning to build these police stations separate from that of main police stations to make it more visible to public. According to the government each police station will have one lady Deputy Superintendent of police, two Sub Inspectors, three assistant Sub Inspectors, four head constables and 16 constables and it also have two Bolero Jeeps, one Tavera and three motorcycles with female drivers.
Around 35 women PCRs will be attached to these women police stations. Counselling centers will be set up to resolve various issues including family disputed, dowry cases through mediation. These women police stations will also have the office of Women and Child Welfare Officer to resolve such cases through mutual consent.
It was also informed that phone number for all the 21 police stations is 1091 and it is also the number of women help line. The CM of state has directed the officers to ensure wide publicity about these women police stations and about phone number at the places having large number of women including schools, colleges and other public places, so that the large number of women can utilize these services.
