JNTU Faculty Recruitment Policy Upsets Private Engineering Colleges

Hyderabad: A sort of dissatisfaction raised in the Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University Hyderabad JNTU recruitment policy of faculty for private engineering colleges.

In the news, it was said that Hyderabad High Court Judge suspended the JNTU faculty selection circular for minority engineering colleges.

Now the faculty selections will be conducted in the region of Telangana from 13th to 18th April, 2015. It has been scheduled for the above dates in four cities of the State.

Much confusion, questions are still remaining in the faculty selection procedure. As this is held in a short time of span and simultaneously in many colleges, all the candidates cannot attend for multiple interviews to prove their calibre.

Now, being the private engineering colleges, they claimed that this policy is taken without taking them into confidence.

As the minority colleges did, these private engineering institutions are also in the mood to get a stay order from the High Court.

Hyderabad JNTU Recruitment Policy

In order to fill the vacancies of faculty positions, JNTUH is implementing this policy as a common recruitment with the help of a 5 member selection committee who will be assisted by their representatives from each engineering college.

Each and every branch of the colleges should have a selection committee and the interviews must be conducted simultaneously.

The chance for each faculty member appearing for interviews is narrowed by this policy implementation. They cannot hold selections for too many colleges in a couple of days.

Owner of the engineering college said that, “It is going to be a like a chaotic job fair”.

Prof N.V. Ramana Rao, JNTU Hyderabad Registrar said, “Candidates will have to prioritise which engineering colleges they want to work for and attend their interviews. This is only phase one of recruitments. We are planning to hold further such recruitments in the future. We want colleges to have the best faculty”.

It is also declared in the policy that each selection committee must have a subject expert in the recruitment process in order to test the calibre of the person came for interview.

On among the audience, engineering college representative said, “Where will we get so many subject experts to serve on each committee? We raised all these issues with JNTU officials but they are not ready to listen. They are asking us to follow their rules or close down our college. There is no democracy”.

Finally it also said in the JNTUH meeting that the selection process of faculty members will go on without any disturbances and problems.
