No Helmet – No Petrol is the new policy that might be adopted by the Hyderabad traffic police in the city to implement the helmet rule strictly.

In a step to bring awareness more in the two-wheel drivers and implement the helmet rule strictly in the state of Telangana, the state government is considering No Helmet- No Petrol rule.

At present, Adilabad district in Telangana is implementing the NO Helmet – No Petrol rule from June 2nd, 2016. After observing the results over there, the Hyderabad Traffic police has also decided to implement the same in the Hyderabad city.

According to the new rule, the two-wheeler riders without helmets will not be able to opt for filling the petrol from the city petrol pumps.

A few days ago, Kerala government had announced the same rule which will be implemented from August 1st, 2016. It will be started in 3 cities on an experimental basis.

Transport department officials in Adilabad held a meeting with petrol pump dealers and owners before imposing the rule. After that, the petrol dealers extended their support for the new rule.

Hyderabad traffic police are also thinking to hold a meeting with the  civil supplies department and the city’s fuel station owners and take a decision on the  implementation of the new rule.
