Actress Tannishtha Chatterjee, who has travelled across the world and has been part of various global films, says she has never faced racism.

“I think we as artists are privileged because we always interact with people who are far more evolved so to be honest I have never faced racism,” Tannishtha, who is promoting her film “UnIndian”, told IANS.

“I have worked with so many different cultures for instance I have worked with Australian director, American directors. I only meet people who are trying to understand my point of view…fortunately I have never faced (racism) so I think as artist that’s how it should be and I am privileged to be in that community,” she added.

Directed by Anupam Sharma “UnIndian” features Brett Lee, Tannishtha Chatterjee, Supriya Pathak, Akash Khurana and Gulshan Grover.

Talking about her character in the film “UnIndian” she said: “It’s a very progressive character. Meera is a singe mother she does not think she has to have a man to complete her life. She is a responsible mother, good daughter but she is also an individual. The Indian women audience will connect to this film.”
