Mumbai: Actor Salman Khan has confessed that he loves to attend award functions, but he also prefers to stay out of the competition. He spoke few words about functions at Zee Cine Awards 2016.

Salman Khan has confessed that he loves to attend award functions, but he also prefers to stay out of the competition. The 50-year-old actor who was nominated for ‘Bajrangi Bhaijaan’ said that awards are not important for him.

Recently the actor attended Zee Cinema awards and speaking at the award function he said, “I always feel very happy when others grab their awards but they don’t matter for me. I like award functions because they bring the whole industry together.

We are all racing against time and we all meet our friends during award functions. It feels so good. Delete me from the competition. We are here since long. We have been nominated. I can come and perform and attend award shows. But I think the younger generation should be given a chance to win awards.”

Salman Khan also confessed that ‘Prem Ratan Dhan Payo’ should have outperformed ‘Bajrangi Bhaijaan’. He said, “Sooraj Bharjatya was working so hard for ‘PRDP’. I think it should have done a lot better than ‘Bajrangi Bhaijaan’. It was a beautiful tale of brother and sister.”
