IICT Plans Water Plant Projects in Nalgonda District Fluoride-Hit Areas

Telangana, June 24: Indian Institute of Chemical Technology, IICT decided to set up water plants to supply safe drinking water in fluoride –hit areas of Nalgonda district.

The people who are at fluoride hit areas of Nalgonda district are now can feel free from fluoride, the Indian Institute of Chemical Technology (IICT) has taken a step forward to help the fluoride hit areas. The IICT has decided to setup water plants with modern technology to supply safe drinking water.

IICT scientist, S. Chandrasekhar has attended the meeting on Monday with official officials and decided to set up water plants at where the fluorine content is terrifyingly higher than the permissible level. He expressed his enthusiasm to work with NGOs and district administration to start the project very soon.

In an instant response, district Collector P. Satyanarayna Reddy asked the district Rural Development Agency (DRDA) for voluntary organizations to identify the fluoride-hit areas to set up the safe drinking water plants. The collector is also appointed Executive Director of SC Corporation C. Sridhar as Incharge to observe plant works of IICT at respective areas.

As per reports the safe drinking project at fluoride affected areas will start within 15 days. And these areas are also the first beneficiaries of the prominent Telangana Drinking Water Grid project.
