To promote high-quality scientific education, research and training, Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD), Government of India, has set up seven Indian Institutes of Science Education and Research (IISERs) at Berhampur, Bhopal, Kolkata, Mohali, Pune, Thiruvananthapuram and Tirupati.

IISER stands for Indian Institutes of Science Education and Research, they haven’t announced the ISSER 2016 Dates of events yet. The admissions in IISER 2016 will be taken with any of the three ways:

  • KVPY (Kishor Vaigyanik Protsahan Yojana)
  • JEE Advanced 2016
  • IISER Aptitude Test 2016

It is a five-year dual degree program for bright and motivated science students who have passed class XII. The program integrates classroom learning with research and provides ample scope for multidisciplinary interactions. The first two years of the program consist of core courses in basic sciences, the third and fourth years are dedicated to specialization in chosen science subjects and the fifth year includes a research project. The training during the program enables students to pursue a career in academia, R&D institutes and science-based industries.

Admissions for i-PhD Programme

  • Application Start Date: March 24, 2016
  • Last Date for Application: April 15, 2016

Application Procedure:

  • Only online applications will be accepted.
  • The candidates must carefully fill and submit the online application form on or before the specified date.
  • Last date of Application for all the discipline is 15th April 2016
  • After the last date, all applications will be screened and candidates selected for interviews will be intimated by email.

IISER 2016 Application Fee is Rs. 1500/- and Rs. 750/- for SC or ST Category. The application fee is non-refundable. It can only be paid in cash.

Eligibility Criteria:

The candidates should be qualified any of the following exams:

  • Ph.D. in mathematics programme
  • Ph.D. in chemistry programme
  • Ph.D. in physics programme
  • Ph.D. in biology programme

Mathematics

Eligibility Criteria:

 Students with minimum 60% marks in aggregate (overall percentage; not only in the majoring subject) or CGPA 6 out of 10 point scale (55% or equivalent CGPA in aggregate for SC/ST and PD candidates) in B.Sc. any specialization and qualifying additional criteria as given below can apply for Integrated Ph.D. Program in Mathematics 2016.

Tentative Dates of Interview: June 02 – 04, 2016

Chemistry

Eligibility Criteria:

Students with minimum 60% marks in aggregate (overall percentage; not only in majoring subject) or CGPA 6 out of 10 point scale (55% or equivalent CGPA in aggregate for SC/ST and PD candidates) in B. Sc. (General / B.Sc. majoring in Chemistry, Physics & Biology) and qualifying additional criteria as given below can apply for Integrated Ph.D. Program in Chemistry 2016.

Tentative Dates of Interview: May 16 – 18, 2016

Physics

Eligibility Criteria:

Students with minimum 60% marks in aggregate (overall percentage; not only in the majoring subject) or CGPA 6 out of 10 point scale (55% or equivalent CGPA in aggregate for SC/ST and PD candidates) in B.Sc. and qualifying additional criteria as given below can apply for Integrated Ph.D. Program in Physics 2016.

Tentative Dates of Interview: June 2016

Biology

Candidates eligible to apply based on their score in JGEEBILS and our eligibility criteria have been shortlisted. These candidates will receive a link to the application form via email. Based on this application form and the below-listed criteria applicants will be shortlisted for an interview. Candidates selected for the interview will receive a separate email to appear for the interview at the IISER Pune campus.
