IIT Bhubaneswar Introduced Dance as a B Tech Subject Now

Orissa: IIT Bhubaneswar has recently made a change in the engineering education system and introduced Dance as one of the subject in B Tech studies for four years.

Many changes have been made in the Education system of India. Now IIT Bhubaneswar interestingly started new innovation in education system and the organization has introduced Dance as a subject in B.Tech courses.

According to latest updates, IIT Bhubaneswar introduced Odissa Dance as a B.Tech subject and it is the first IIT in the country to introduce dance as a subject in UG course. The news was revealed by the director R V Raj Kumar on Friday.

He also said that, classical dance would be one of the breadth course of maximum 12 credits during the four year B.Tech studies. Each credit means. Weekly five hours of study for a course. In first year candidates can learn Odissi as an extra academic activity of one credit from a range including NSS, NCC, Yoga, badminton, Volleyball and cricket. Ten girls have chosen Odissi this after it was introduced recently.

In the second and third years, the students can opt Odissi as an elective “breadth course” from among a range of subjects such Odissi financial management, international relations and entrepreneurship. Each of two semesters in a year would have to clear it to earn the B.Tech degree.
