Ravi Patel, the Indian-American hotelier has announced about his congressional bid from Iowa as it is tending to enter into the race by becoming the second democrat.
At present, the seat is taken over by the Republican Rod Blum. As in the process if chosen, Patel would become the 4th Indian-American that has elected to their prestigious House of Representatives. In the present Congress, Ami Bera is the only Indian-American. He was again taken for his another term in last year elections, 2014. Other two who were elected are Dalip Singh Saund, a Democrat in California’s Central Valley, and former House member and Louisiana Governor Bobby Jindal, a Republican.
Patel said, “Our country is facing many complex challenges, and the solutions to those challenges include all of us. We need a fresh perspective and new leadership. We need a Congressman who is an innovative thinker; who is genuinely interested in serving our country and seeing it succeed.”

In India, his grandparents were farmers and his parents are had different works when they primarily immigrated to the US. He was born in Mena, Arkansas after his family got a small roadside motel there of their own. Ultimately his family shifted to Burlington in Iowa where they persistent to raise their family business. Being graduated from the University of Iowa, he helped out his family’s full-time business. And now, he is one of the most powerful persons who serve as Principal and President. Coming from a middle class family, this is a huge achievement for him.
