Indian Sells Counterfeit Cigarettes and Became US Convicted

An Indian descent has agreed that he selling counterfeit cigarettes in the United States. Gaurav Joseph Jayaseelan who 25 years old faces imprisonment from many years and has been commanded to pay the fine up to 250, 000 USD, the Justice department said.

As we all know the laws are very strong in the US so Gaurav also has punished worse. He is feeling not good and agreed that he done the mistake, he dispensing the all counterfeit tobacco product, cigarettes by labeling with the name of Newport cigarettes.

The counterfeit cigarettes which have made by Gaurav marks are very similar to the brand ones and both looking to equal like originals of Newport brand cigarettes. The originals products are registered and manufacturing by the US patent and Trademark Office.

US Attorney Wilfredo Ferrer said that this case was a ruthless commitment for stopping this kind of international counterfeiters from original products which are used by American customers.

Rober J West who is acting Special Agent in Charge FDA Office of Criminal Investigations Miami Field office added that the FDA is a mission to protect consumers from this type of counterfeiters’ products containing cigarettes also.

He also added that they will focus on their effects and resources on eliminating harmful counterfeit products from US marketplace.
