Indian Woman Involved in Recruiting for ISIS Arrested in Hyderabad

Hyderabad: An Indian woman who has connections with ISIS Islamic state has been arrested by the city police at Rajic Gandhi International Airport in Shamshabad for recruiting people into ISIS.

The suspected woman who has connection with Islamic State (IS) has identified as 38-years old Afsha Jabeen alias Nicole alias Nicky Joseph. She has been arrested by the Hyderabad police at Rajiv Gandhi International Airport in Shamshabad while deported from Abu Dhabi with her husband and three daughters.

As per police information Afsha Jabeen lives in Hyderabad’s Tolichowki area, she has connection with Islamic state (IS), and she is interested in IS activities and started recruiting people for the group. As a part of campaign she had been deported by the UAE, wherein the country regularly deports individuals with links with the IS.

On January 16, police has arrested Salman who had planned to reach Syria via Turket to join the IS, just before boarded a flight to Dubai. At the time Salman told officials that Nicky had influenced him to join her in Dubai and subsequently go to Syria.

As per information Salman met Nicky through Facebook and they created various social networking groups under fake names and started propaganda and attracting people who were interested to join IS. Last week, two people from Kerala were transported to India by the UAE for allegedly increasing IS propaganda on the internet.

On Friday a police official confirmed that, Afsha Jabeen has been arrested who was a co-accused in the case involving Salman Mohiuddin when she arrived from Dubai.
