Mumbai: Actress Sonam Kapoor who will be seen as ‘Neerja’ said that women in both urban and rural areas across the country are real heroes and Indian women are always brave.
Sonam Kapoor recently attended the inauguration of FICI FLO Film Festival. This will be a three-day event and it will show more than 40 movies on women empowerment, gender equality, and social change. Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis was present at the event.
He said that movie should bring a change in society and also should be an eye-opener. Sonam Kapoor who will be seen as ‘Neerja’ said that women in both urban and rural areas across the country are real heroes and Indian women are always brave.
She said, “I feel that women today in India, be it rural or city or anywhere, are the real heroes. They are bold and brave. They are empowering themselves. Every one of them is compassionate and sensitive to the needs of others around. Neerja is a brave young woman and she gave up her life and saved the rest.
This is what Neerja did under an extraordinary circumstance with a resolve and defiance was unparalleled. Our lives definitely have an impact on watching movies. Movies are just a reflection of what is happening in the society.”
