Kolkata: Highly awaited IPL 2015 opening ceremony of Indian Premier League eighth edition is likely to be affected by rain, thunderstorms today for Opening Nite at Salt Lake Stadium, Kolkata.
The eighth season of Indian Premier League IPL 2015 tournament is commenced from 8th April, 2015. Opening Ceremony of the tournament “Opening Nite” will be celebrated on 7th April 2015 at the Salt Lake Stadium, Kolkata.
The great opening of IPL 2015 is hosted by the Bollywood actor, Saif Ali Khan. To entertain audience, Bollywood stars including Farhan Akhtar & Band, Shahid Kapoor, Anushka Sharma, Pritam & Band and Hrithik Roshan is to come on one stage with grand and awesome performances. Each and everyone will join hands together for these nice entertainments on stage.
The opening ceremony of tournament will start at 7:30 PM and gates of venue will be opened from 5:00 PM today. Around 30,000 tickets have been released for one lakh capacity of Salt Lake stadium for this “Opening Nite”. The captains of eight teams will be there to take the Marylebone Cricket Club (MCC) spirit of Cricket Pledge.
The captain of defending champions Kolkata Knight Riders, Gautham Gambhir, who won the title in the 2014 season will put the trophy back in play to start the IPL 2015 season.
