IRCTC is Implementing the Pay-On-Delivery Method for Train Tickets

Everything is online now. Our country is moving forward digitally. From groceries to fashion apparel, from furniture to electronic gadgets, we can buy anything via e-com sites. The best part is they come at our doorstep and then we have to pay. We can first buy the products and pay when the delivery comes. But what about train tickets? Here is good news. From now on we can purchase the train tickets and pay for them with Cash on Delivery (COD) method.

IRCTC has recently implemented this offer in their official portal. Passengers can book the tickets and pay for them once they received it. The officials are now hoping that people who buy the tickets from travel agents will switch to the website and buy tickets online. Passengers can make the payment through any mode including cash.

The passengers can register their details in the portal first. For verification, we have to provide our Aadhar or PAN card details. The sales tax will be applied if the ticket costs more than Rs. 5000. Tickets which cost below Rs.5000 will get charged Rs.90 and which cost more than Rs. 5000 have to pay a tax of Rs. 120.
