Private carrier Jet Airways has added 1,000 additional seats to its domestic circuit in order to improve the connectivity between popular routes.

Jet Airways, which is the second largest airline both in terms of market share and passengers carried has decided to increase seat capability on high-density routes. On Monday it has announced that, the airline is going to add additional 1000 seats to its domestic network to provide an improved connectivity within the country.

The airline had earlier said that, it would increase the capacity of seats at domestic and international routes by enhancing its fleet and it is expecting that 11 percent development on domestic and 17 percent on international routes. Earlier the airline offers 63,500 seats per day on domestic flights, from now onwards it offers additional 1000 seats i.e. 64,500 seats per day. These new services will be commenced between July 23 and September of this year.

Airline chief commercial officer Raj Sivakumar said that “The additional services have been introduced to cater on the growing demand on the high density routes and to ensure better connectivity between India’s emerging cities”.

As per official information the airline will increase the frequency on a ninth daily service between Mumbai and Chennai, a second service between Kolkata and Bengaluru and a fourth daily service connecting between Mangaluru with Mumbai. Along with these it will also add the frequencies to Bhopal-Hyderabad route via Mumbai and Hyderabad with Rajahmundry. The airline is adding these new services to its domestic flights to offer full service travel experience on domestic network.
