Finally, gates opened for Kabaddi World Cup 2016. First time India is hosting the Kabaddi World Cup, and it will start from October 7th in a grand way. Sports Minister Vijay Goel unveiled the Kabaddi World Cup 2016 Logo and the complete Schedule.
Seven-time champions and all-time favorites India is going to face South Korea in very first game of 2016 Kabaddi World Cup. The matches start on October 7 and end on October 22. Besides India, other countries like USA, England, Australia, Iran, Poland, Thailand, Bangladesh, South Korea, Japan, Argentina and Kenya are also participating in the championship.

Totally there are 12 teams which were divided into two groups named as Group A, and Group B. Meanwhile India, Australia, Bangladesh, England, Argentina and South Korea are in Group Aand remaining teams are in Group B.
Semifinals of the tournament scheduled on October 21st and the winners will face the final on the very next day. Coming to the details, South Korea is a big team and challenging ones for India. They aim to win their eighth world cup Kabbadi match in Ahmedabad. The Korean players Jan Kun Lee and Tae DeokEom are well known and also showed their mark in the Pro Kabaddi League. However, Pakistan name missed in the list.
Speaking to media, Minister Geol congratulated the Indian Olympic winners and participants who nominated for Rio Olympic Games. He also said, “Indian players are really doing a good job in Rio Olympics, but we didn’t have luck on our side. We got four medals, and it’s a great thing for us”. Meanwhile, International Kabaddi Federation (IKF) president Janardhan Singh Gehlot said that their goal is to take this sport to the Olympics, and they are trying to bring International recognition.
