Veteran director Mani Ratnam has directed the movie. After the success of O Kadhal Kanmani, Mani Ratnam has taken up the new project with Karthi. Kaatru Veliyidai first look poster has been released on the social media sites. The name is also disclosed at the same time on the poster. Actually, till date, the new movie name was not announced and kept as a matter of suspense.
Kaashmora shooting has been completed by the hero and now he is ready with the latest movie titled as Kaatru Veliyidai with Mani Ratnam.
Aditi Rao Hydari is playing the female lead role along with another veteran actor Dulquer Salmaan is playing a crucial role in this movie. It is heard that the movie makers has approached Sai Pallavi for the heroine role in the film. But she rejected the offer citing some undisclosed problems. After that, the unit has approached the Bollywood actress Aditi Rao.
R J Balaji, who received the best comedian award in the recently concluded SIIMA Awards 2016 function is also playing a role in the movie. He received the award for the movie Naanum Rowdy Dhaan.
