Hyderabad: Yesterday Telangana CM KCR has announced that Government is planning to shift Chanchalguda jail and Race course to construct residential schools to Muslims.
Chief Minister of Telangana K. Chandra Sekhar Rao has decided to shift the Chanchalguda Jail and Race Course to the other places. The decision was taken by him on Saturday in a meeting at his camp office.
After a long time, KCR visited camp office and arranged a press meet on minorities issue at his camp office in Hyderabad. In a press meet he announced that, he is planning to shift the Chanchalguda jail and Race course to some other place and in that place, Government will construct new residential schools buildings for minority children. Chandra Sekhara Rao also announced that 60 minorities Guru Kul schools would be started across Telangana state from next academic session. He also said new job-oriented schemes would also be launched for minorities soon. He said the sellers and dealers of minority communities would be provided financial assistance under a special package.
KCR mentioned that, Muslims constitute 12% of population in the state while other people set up 2% of total population in the state. He also said that Muslims have low literacy rate and his Government will take necessary improvements and immediate steps for increasing literacy growth of Muslims. For schools children also, his Government will provide schools with nice infrastructure and definitely improve living conditions.
He said Special Residential Schools will be established in 119 Assembly segments. In the first phase, 30 residential schools each for girls and boys will be established. The Chief Minister KCR said that the residential schools will be started in hired premises in the first year and they would be shifted to own premises by second year. He said since Muslims are in large numbers in Hyderabad, more space would be required to construct residential schools. Therefore, Chanchalguda Jail and Race Course lands will be used for the purpose.
He also spoke about implementing Urdu as the second official language.
