Lyca invests 600 crores in Kollywood

Chennai: Famous distribution company Lyca Productions has invested Rs. 600 Crores for Kollywood movies up to now and interestingly it was bad for those and returns back with zero returns.

Many Corporate Companies came to Kollywood industry with a lot of expectations that they can succeed. They were ready to invest in crores but because of bad experiences, they returned back with zero returns. In the current scenario, only few companies are consistently and persistently producing movies.

London-based Lyca Mobile Company came to Kollywood industry through Vijay’s Kathi. Currently, Endhiran part two is taken as 2.O and it is produced by Lyca Productions. The estimated budget is around 300 crores.

Kamal’s long pending dream project “Marudhanayagam” will also produce by Lyca Productions. By 1997, the movie was started with the budget of 100 crores, but only 20% work was completed and later it was shelved due to a financial crisis. Kamal tried his level best to the fullest, but couldn’t make it happen.

After 19 years, now the making of Marudhanayagam is happening again. Currently ‘2.O’ is taken in a lavish budget of Rupees 300 crores. Marudhanayagam also will be taken win similar budget.
