Maggi Tested Positive for Safe Lead Levels | Nestle India Reported

Uttar Pradesh, June 2: Maggi Noodles is safe to eat – said Nestle India after doing a test to know amount of Lead in it. The result is quite acceptable which shows Lead amount is under food regulations.

Nestle India tested on the samples of Maggi noodles and the product is found with optimum lead levels that are safe to eat and the amount is permissible for consumption. The organization said that they frequently monitor lead levels in the raw materials produced and are to be sold.

In the Maggi two-minute noodles, monosodium glutamate (MSG), the taste enhancer has been used on the preparation method. The organization is extending its complete support for tests that are being conducted and team is waiting for further test results.

The company said, “We have also submitted samples of Maggi Noodles from almost 600 product batches to an external laboratory for independent analysis and we tested samples from almost 1,000 batches at our accredited laboratory”.

The samples that are submitted are about 2 lakh packs in which 32 crore packets will be counted. Nestle India conducted both internal and external tests and proved that lead levels are safe to eat and the company is obeying food regulations that are safe for humans. And the results of Maggi tests are shared with authorities.

UP FSDA in the month of May tested the Maggi noodles that are manufactured in February 2014 and found high levels of added monosodium glutamate (MSG) and lead beyond food regulations. The company claimed that they are not adding MSG to Maggi, but due to this test results, the case is rejected.

In a local court at Barabanki, Uttar Pradesh, a case has been filed against the company and famous persons like Amitabh Bachchan, Madhuri Dixit and Preity Zinta were dragged to court for involving in the promotion of noodles brand (Two-Minute Maggi)

The company said that they are completely supporting the team performing tests and waiting for further results on these tests. For testing MSG positive, the company remained in silence. Consumers and staff of the organization are strictly waiting for the results to come.
