Yesterday, the British government came out with a remarkable opinion to honour the Indian Independence Leader, Mahatma Gandhi by unveiling his statue opposite to the Parliament House, London.
It might be great honour to the Indians that would be done by ‘The English’ anyway in this long time. On last Sunday, the British government announced that the statue of Indian independence leader Mahatma Gandhi is to be divulged contradictory to the Houses of Parliament in London in the upcoming month.
The statue made of bronze will take place next to the figures of the world like World War II Prime Minister Winston Churchill and anti-apartheid hero, Nelson Mandela in Parliament Square. The declaration came as the echelon of public donations to support the statue passed about £1 million which is roughly €1.3 million or $1.5 million.
In a statement authenticating the shift, the Prime Minister David Cameron said, “Mahatma Gandhi is an inspiration.” He continued, “The statue in Parliament Square not only marks his huge importance in the history of both our countries but will enrich the firm bond of friendship between the world’s oldest democracy and it’s largest.”
This is the special year that marks as the 100th year since Gandhi returned to India from South Africa after his education and started his own way for the non-violent campaign establishment for the independence from Britain.
