Hyderabad: Sources from officials say that Manjeera water levels has dipped completely, this is going to affect water supply to some of the areas in Hyderabad.
Water Supply will be affected to KPHB, Banjara Hills, Bhagyanagar section, Erragadda, Yousufguda, and Borabanda areas of the city of Hyderabad. The thing is, from Manjeera Barrage, pumping has been stopped because of the water levels have been gone down on Tuesday. Kukatpally and some areas in Serilingampally will also get the effect to the water supply.
Nevertheless, all arrangements have been made for bringing 14 milling gallon per a day from the Godavari phase-I project and from the Krishna phase-III 5MGD. Water Board has released a statement to press that the needed junction’s works also were carried out at KPHB and Lingampally on a war footing.
Tankers are being taken from other divisions for providing additional trips in the affected areas to give the lowest need of drinking water for the next two days. The release said that this water emergency will be spoken to in a week’s time with supplementation from the Godavari project.
The crisis relief action plan has been prepared by the HMWSSB for taking emergency works for tackle the situation, because of the drying up of the Himayathsagar, Osmansagar and Singur reservoirs. The State Government has been asked that the financial help under the SDRF to the year 2015-16/2016-17.
The HMWSSB has asked the State Government for providing Rs. 134 crore in requesting way for consultants for preparing detailed report of the project for 164 villages, mobile tankers diversion to complete the pendency, the Godavari project and among others.
