Bollywood industry is always ready to present famous personalities real life stories at big screen, in a same manner, director Kethan Mehta is presented the real life story of Darshrath Manjhi who popularly known as a mountain man, a poor labourer from Gehlaur village in Bihar’s Gaya district.
Actor Nawazuddin Siddiqui played the role of Dashrath Manjhi, and Radhika Apte played his wife role. The movie is being produced jointly under Viacom 18 Motion Pictures and NFDC India. The film is also features Indira Gandhi in its story line.

Manjhi strived for 25 years to break mountain for the lady he loved. Siddiqui played a challenging and powerful role in his film career.

Storyline in Brief
Dashrath Manjhi a poor labourer from a small village Gehlaur in Bihar’s Gaya district. He strives for 25 years to break a mountain for the lady he loved. His wife was died due to the lack of timely medical care while traveling to nearest hospital. It took hours’ time to take his wife to hospital due to the lack of proper route. So he decided to make a road by breaking the mountain using simple hammer and chisel in the memory of his wife.
