Kerala, 5 May: The police of four southern states Andhra, Kerala, Karnataka and Tamil Nadu arrested the most wanted Maoist leader Roopesh (hunted in at least 20 cases) in Kerala along with his wife and three others.

Strangely the most wanted Maoist of Kerala is a well-educated man named as Roopesh. He did a law graduate with a diploma in Information Technology. As per reports before he came in to the Western Ghats zone of the Communist Party of India (Maoist), he joined in the Communist Party of India (Marxist-Leninst) along with Wife.

His wife, Shyna is also a former Kerala high court employee, who came in to the news when she wrote a letter to Kerala CM Oommen Chandy in 2011 against police official who allegedly harassing her 71 year old mother and her two children.

Roopesh had written two novels titled Maoist and Vasanthathile Poomarangal (Flowering trees of spring) in 2013 and was published by two publishing houses in Kerala. As per reports he had gone into hiding in 2002 and his wife in 2008.

Kerala Home Minister Ramesh Chennithala asked the police official of Andhra, Kerala, Karnataka and Tamil Nadu to arrest Roopesh, his wife and other three. The 4 southern states police arrested Roopesh, and his wife and Veeramani from Karnataka, Anup from Kerala and Kannan from Tamil Nadu. It is said that all would be taken to Kerala for further investigation on the way to Andhra Pradesh.
