The Maruti Suzuki S-Cross cars which were manufactured between April 20, 2015 and Feb 12, 2016 will be eligible for the replacement. The company officially confirmed the news. The defect was stated as the brake Caliper was leaking a bit of oil onto the rotors. Due to this, the warning sign of the setting symbol on the metre console for the driver was also indicating.
Both the variants of the Maruti Suzuki S-Cross – the DDiS 200 and DDiS 320 are having the same brake component. Hence, the customers of the S-Cross will be individually contacted by their nearest service centre to bring in the vehicle for defective part replacement. The replacement will be done free of cost. Customers can check if their car is affected or not by putting in the VIN.
The Maruti S-Cross was the company’s first car in the compact SUV segment. The vehicle is available in two variants of the diesel engine with options 5 or 6 – speed manual transmission. Maruti had decided for a heavy price cut. The initial launch price was too high and could not sustain the sales momentum. Currently, a good response is enjoyed for the vehicle. Especially, the top model 1.6 l Alpha has a good sales record. The limited edition model which was introduced at the Auto expo has provided a great help in driving the sales.
