Neeraj Ghaywan who previously assisted Anurag Kashyap on “Gangs of Wasseypur” delivered stories about two separate people who are struggling to overcome societal pressures. The Bollywood movie was screened in the Un Certain Regard section at the 2015 Cannes Film Festival. The story of movie revolves around four characters in small town intersects along the Ganges. The movie follows two separate stories arcs that eventually converge.

Storyline in Brief

Neeraj Ghaywan delivered two different stories, the first of these about a daughter who is harassed with fault of a sexual encounter and an unlucky father fading with morality. The second narrative concerns about the love story between a low class boy and upper class girl. The film won first prize at Cannes Film Festival in the Un Certain Regard section and also secured promising Future prize for debut films.
