30 April, Redmond, USA: End for Internet Explorer with Windows 10 OS. New Microsoft Edge browser [Project Spartan] is going to replace IE with upcoming Windows 10 operating system.

 Microsoft publicized the official name for Project Spartan at Microsoft’s annual Build developer’s conference. Corporate vice president of operating systems Joe Belfiore explained about new web browser Micro Edge which will be featured in its upcoming Window 10 operation system, by replacing Internet Explorer for good.

The new browser was first announced in the month of January, now it revealed name and the meaning behind it on the occasion of company’s annual Build developer’s conference. The company said reason behind the name in their website that is “Microsoft Edge as it reflects our commitment to developers to deliver a browser that lives at the edge of modern Web standards and security”.

Belfiore said that, Microsoft Edge is significantly faster than its predecessor browsers with a built-in notation tool. And it has digital assistant Cortana to offer more adapted results and actions. It also supports Chrome and Firefox extensions with some new changes and allows the developers to carry their favourite plug-ins to the new browser. The page layout for new tabs in a browser is like a customized home page with links and thumbnails of the frequently visited websites.

If you want to try Microsoft Edge browser now, you need to have the latest build of the Windows 10 Technical Preview, where its pre-release state is still under progress.
