30 April – Moga, Punjab: A 34 year-old woman and her 14 year old daughter jumped off the moving bus when harassed by a group of people in the bus. The girl died and lady is under treatment in a hospital.

Nothing is changed after the incident of Nirbhaya in a moving bus of Delhi, many of us are still demanding justice for the victims. In one such incident, a 14 year old girl died and her mother was seriously injured after they were thrown off a moving bus in Punjab.  As per reports some youths in the bus started molesting the girl, then they were forced to jump out of moving bus to prevent that.

As per reports the incident happened on Wednesday night on the Moga-Bhatinda highway, which is near to Moga city. A 34 year-old woman, wife of a minimal former was travelling in a bus along with her 14-years old daughter. Some of youth in that bus started to harass the girl, her mother objected that and raised an alarm, asked conductor to stop bus. Instead of helping the girl and her mother, driver and conductor of that bus joined with them and increased bus speed. No other passengers in that bus also came for their rescue.

Then mother and girl jumped off the bus to protect themselves. Girl died on spot and mother was injured seriously who is getting treatment at hospital now. Mother’s conditions remain serious and police are trying to take her statement regarding this. They registered the case but failed to arrest anyone in this case.

“We are investigating. We will not spare the accused,” said Jatinder Khaira, a senior police officer.
