Nadia Nun Rape Case: CID Arrested Milan Sarkar in West Bengal

Kolkata, May 8: Criminal Investigation Department (CID) from Sealdah arrested Milan Sarkar on Thursday night who is the main accused in Nadia nun rape case that took place few days back.

Milan Sarkar is considered to be the main accused in the nun rape case in Nadia. Finally, Criminal Investigation Department (CID) from Sealdah arrested him along with his accomplish Wahidur Babu Yesterday night. The CID nabbed Milan Sarkar and Ahidul Islam Babu from Sealdah station. Previously, 70-year-old nun was raped by a gang of seven dacoits on March 14, 2015. The incident took place inside a Convent in Gangnapur village of Nadia district in West Bengal.

Two nuns were at the place of incident and it is real that the dacoits tied up the other nun and raped the victim in front of her only. They are also fled with Rs. 10 to 12 lakhs. Due to this incident, the victim is hospitalized at Ranaghat. During this, West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee went to see the health condition of her.

In the hospital, superintendent AN Mondol said, “Sister Superior of Convent of Jesus and Mary, who had been declared fit for discharge, was released from hospital at around 2:45 AM on March 20”. Mamata took severe action and ordered CID to probe this case.

Many actions took place at the place and everyone in support of the nun posted slogans for justice. Government also took certain immediate measures to solve this issue and finally CID arrested the accused, Milan Sarkar.
