The elections took place yesterday at Ebbas Matriculation School which is at Radha Krishnan Road, Mylapore. As we reported earlier, elections started around 7am and ended by 5pm.
But in between, lots of drama happened even in polling booth. It went to an extent where Judge E Padmanaban announced that he will cancel elections if the clash continues. However both parties cooled situation and Vishal never made a mess out of drama.
The elections were completed by 5pm and counting started from 6pm. Initially postal votes were counted and it clearly showed that Radharavi lead by a huge margin. Around 11pm, results were announced that Vishal won against incumbent general secretary Radharavi by 297 votes.
Vishal wants to have a change
Vishal’s ‘Pandavar team’ made a dramatic turn around after lagging behind initially. The postal votes which were counted went in favor of Sarathkumar and team members.
Not even one contestant from Pandavar team was leading during counting procedures. But later there was a turn around when Chennai votes were counted. Vishal’s team won the battle on a comfort note.
Vishal who spear headed the Pandavar team was emotional after the results were announced. Regarding such a victory he said, “(Clears Throat). Actually my throat is completely gone. I am unable to speak more as I have throat problems. First of all, I have to retired judge E Padmanaban for conducting elections a democratic manner.”
“We struggled a lot for this. We all wanted a change for more than ten years and now it has happened. I also wanted to thank my friend Ritesh. He helped me a lot during campaigning. This event today happened on a bigger scale and it is even bigger than a star show.”
Vishal further added, “I saw people who are in their late 80’s and 70’s coming in their wheel chair to caste vote. A historical turnout has happened here. I also wanted to thank press and all forms of media who took our team and our manifesto to every people around. I thank you all once again.”
