India: Infosys founder N. R. Narayana Murthy asked the academia that if premier science institute had contributed to society when we compared to the world’s top institutes.
Recently in a graduation celebration at India, Infosys founder N. R. Narayana Murthy asked the academia that if the premier science institute had contributed to society when we compared to the world’s top institutes.
Academia reacted and pointed that the country’s science institutes have received relatively – too little funding. In an interview, he added all these words and vouches for an extra tax on corporate to raise money for higher education.
Every year it gives Infosys Science Foundation award, this year it is the seventh and yet it received 206 nominations entire six categories, it means not low consideration. It is the most important science award in India.
Probably, researchers are thinking very carefully before nominating somebody. Here, one institute got 1 place in India i.e. Indian Institute of Science and has ranked 99th in the world. In 2009, nominations of various categories for this award have increased 136 and it is also improved to 206 in a current year so that this is good enough.
There is a chance to get standard our self by improving higher education with the best. To get funding, all US professor are spending one-third of their time for writing proposals and meeting with industry persons.
