NASA scientist confirmed that liquid water flowing on the surface of present day Mars and is mostly salty and not pure.

NASA scientist has confirmed the evidence of the presence of liquid water flowing on the present day Mars. As per scientist any flowing Martin water is salty and not pure.

John Grunsfeld, astronaut and associate administrator of NASA’s Science Mission Directorate in Washington said in a press release that “Our quest on Mars has been to ‘follow the water,’ in our search for life in the universe, and now we have convincing science that validates what we’ve long suspected,”.

Scientists has used Compact Reconnaissance Imaging Spectrometer for Mars (CRISM) onboard the Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter to identify the liquid water flowing on the surface of Mars. The chemical signature of hydrated salts and minerals in the mysterious dark streaks can be seen flowing down the slopes of a number of Martian hills and mountains and craters. As per scientist these flowing streaks are known as recurring slope lineae or RSL.

These hydrated salts and minerals called as perchlorates and these salts could help normally frozen water on Mars to flow. This is not the first discovery of water on Mars, researcher have known for many years that Mars has water frozen at its poles and now it was confirmed by the NASA new research using an imager aborad the Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter.
