Ratan Tata launched National Automotive Innovation Centre (NAIC) with his successor Cyrus P Mistry to be operational at the University of Warwick campus in Coventry, UK by the year 2017.
Tata Group Chairman Emeritus Ratan Tata laid the foundation stone for National Automotive Innovation Centre (NAIC) that is worth of 150-million pound.
The center is planned as the largest research facility of its kind in Europe. It is launched in the purpose of creating the next generation of vehicles for the global market that we are having now.
With his successor, Cyrus P Mistry, Tata was at the launch of the National Automotive Innovation Centre (NAIC) and said, “This foundation today is an investment in the future which will bring academia and industry together, revive the skills and capability of various industries to rebuild the prominence of the UK in the area of manufacturing” .
He added a few points at the moment of inauguration and noted, “It will bring tens of thousands of jobs and as we look into the future, I would say that on Tuesday will be a memorable moment”.
NAIC – Motive and Plans
National Automotive Innovation Centre (NAIC) is planned as the largest automotive research centre in Europe in such an industry.
Being funded by Tata Motors and its UK firm Jaguar Land Rover, the University of Warwick and the UK Government’s Higher Education Funding Council for England (HEFCE) this centre came up with a vision.
1,000 engineers, designers and academics are supposed to work in the space of 33,000 square meter complex.
In reference to a project that the chairman has been associated, Ratan Tata said, “One wants to see the UK shine again as the centre for manufacturing. I have some doubt on how many years are left, but if circumstances are right then I look forward to coming here and seeing what we have laid the foundation stone for today – a new centre for excellence and innovation”.
Many a things were discussed for the motivation of employees and not to take any diversion in the purpose of this launch.
