New York: Researchers at Oregon State University has discovered a new approach to preserve organs and protecting tissues for future purpose.

A new approach for protecting tissues and even organs for using later has been discovered by the Researchers at Oregon State University. Adam Higgins from OSU said that this is an essential step toward the protection of more difficult tissues and structures.

Ice-free cryopreservation which is used in simpler applications like protecting semen, embryos, blood, plant seeds and some other biological applications has already found extensive. But crystallisation constrained it often and it occurs when water freezes, and it can damage tissues and cells, said by Mr Higgins.

For solving this, researchers have used cryoprotectants have used different kinds that help decrease cell damage at the time of the freezing process. The same complex often has been used in automobile radiators for preventing freezing among them ethylene glycol and literally.

“Many of these cryoprotectants are toxic and damage the cells they are trying to protect from the forces of extreme cold,” said Mr Higgins. The healthy cell survival following vitrification rose has been showed by the research from regarding 10% with a conventional approach to more than 80% with the new optimised procedure.
